And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 John 2:2
For the Sins of the Whole World
Christ is the means by which sins are covered and remitted and not for ours only, but He is the means by which the sins of the whole world are covered and remitted. His death appeases God for our sins, and not ours only, but God has been appeased for the sins of the whole world. God has been appeased for the sins of the world by the vicarious death of Jesus Christ, even if that work of grace isn’t fully realized until the consummation, God’s reconciliation of all things unto Himself, when He becomes all in all. (Colossians 1:15-20; 1 Corinthians 15:22-28)
